What are Human resources employee surveys?

Any organization works effectively, provided its internal function is healthy. And what makes up an organization’s internal workforce? Its employees. If your employees are motivated and satisfied enough to work in your organization, your worry is half gone. But how do you measure that? Well, it is a good thing that every organization has a Human resources department whose very job is to look out for such measures and take necessary actions for them.

Human resources employee surveys are nothing but surveys conducted by the HR department to gauge employee satisfaction and engagement. The purpose of this is to get to know what the employees feel about their workplace, job profile, responsibilities and all the factors. The HR department can then look closely at each issue and take measures to solve them to make the workplace better for all of them.

Exploratory Research Guide

Conducting exploratory research seems tricky but an effective guide can help.

Why do you need an HR employee survey?

  • Better employee satisfaction – the HR department is in place to look out for the people that contribute to the organization and its success. Well, employees make up the most of an organization and looking after their satisfaction is most important. With HR employee surveys, the authorities can find their problems and deliver better employee satisfaction through solving them.
  • High employee retention – keeping employees retained will help you to reduce the turnover rate. If the turnover rate is high, it reflects poor communication and weak work morale.
  • Less absence – when you observe that more employees are frequently calling in sick or taking leave for some reason, you can easily tell that they are not motivated enough to work in your organization. Once HR has addressed their issues, employees no longer find reasons to avoid coming into work.
  • High productivity – how much the employees contribute to the organization’s purpose defines how successful it can be. With HR employee surveys, one can determine what is stopping them from putting their 100% and enhancing their productivity.
  • Improved customer service – happy employees make happy customers. This is a saying which is true when you realize that when employees are satisfied and motivated to do their job, they serve the customers with the same enthusiasm and motivation. This results ultimately in good customer service.
