The Opportunity

We are looking for an accounts receivable coordinator to join the administration team in Montreal (Québec). The coordinator will report to VP Finances & HR and will work closely with the Controller in Montreal and Collections assistant in India. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a similar role; has experience with Microsoft Great Planes Dynamics; has strong leadership, communication (in English and French), and interpersonal skills; and is highly resourceful.

Place of work: Downtown Montreal

Part time: 2-3 days week

What you will do:

Using Microsoft GP Dynamics system as well as other accounting tools:

  • Overseeing a collection agent in India and assisting in daily collections;
  • Produce Collection Dashboard on a daily basis and Weekly collection report per region in Excel;
  • Follow up with clients using a collection management module and according to a Collection management plan;
  • Deal with customers via e mails / phone calls diligently, courteously, and professionally while collecting payments, in both English and French;
  • Persuade customers diligently to pay past due amounts;
  • Collaborate with vendors/controller/VP finance  regarding collection of payments and communicate any change in a customer financial situation;
  • Create payment re-schedules based on customers’ financial situations upon approval by the controller/VP Finance ;
  • Maintain and update record of customers in Collection management module regarding promises of payments and any communication with client which should be properly recorded in the customer file;
  • Collaborate with collection agency for difficult clients;

What it takes:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in receivables collection
  • Perfectly bilingual (English and French)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Intermediate Excel level
  • Cegep/University degree in accounting (or equivalent in related discipline)
